I’ve noticed that the majority of people live their life without any personal goals. They are satisfied when they reach the expectations of society: a well-paid job, a house and having a family. I find it very sad that people can live their life in such a passionless way, because they don’t question what it is they want in life.
I want to inspire people in a way that they are willing to set goals and decide for themselves again. I believe that there is nothing more rewarding in life than reaching your own goals. By setting even harder goals you challenge yourself to keep improving. In this way you get the most out of life.
My products aren’t just minor improvements of existing products. Most of the time incremental changes are advertised as revolutionary. But I want my products to be innovative and thus radically different or entirely new. They shouldn’t just fulfill people’s greedy needs, but really contribute to their goals.
In an early stage of this semester I found the vision that I was looking for past semester. This gave me time to talk and discuss my vision with several people in order to make my vision even stronger. Throughout the semester I’ve changed and perfected my vision as it is at the moment.
Only by now I can see the importance of a good vision, something I didn’t understand last semester. Your vision helps you to make the right decisions based on what you truly believe. I noticed this when I was very tended to do an internship as a marketer. But that is almost the opposite of my vision says to do. My coach convinced me that it is more important to do what you believe is right to do than what you think is fun to do. Only now I truly understand what the people that inspire me tried to tell me such as my dad and Daan Roosegaarde with “stick to your vision”.
During my vision development, I came across different visions on society that didn’t relate so much to each other. In my Little Own Theories I keep track of these observations and bundle them. In the future I can read these theories again to see how much the theory relates to the societal situation at that moment. This will help me to better understand the current developments in the society.
