For this USE-learning line course I still have to make an exam. However, I already made a lot of assignments based on the theory of the course so I will reflect on this.
We had to pick an existing company to apply all the theory on assignments about this company. We chose Maxi-Cosi and started of doing research on the current market and position of Maxi-Cosi. We immediately went to different baby products shops to ask what made Maxi-Cosi special. We made an analysis of their competitors and with this we proposed an new service. After more investigation we perfected this service based on questionnaires and marketing theories.
This course has learnt me how to think for a company. What product or service would be the most logical to introduce into the market for that company. I learned to design from that perspective keeping the identity of the company in mind.
I also learned to thoroughly investigate your target group and discover what it is they want or need. It is interesting to so that marketing is so much more than promoting a product. You search for products that aren’t yet there or differentiate you from the competition. I now know what to do if a company contacts me, asking for a new product by repeating the assignments that I’ve done in this course for that company.
