- Making my drawings communicative
- Pencil, Fine-liner and marker techniques
- Creating concepts using sketching
This assignment was one of the most rewarding ones in terms of progress. Already within the first
class I saw how much progress I made at the end of the class. I really enjoyed
sketching and didn’t see the assignments as homework, but more as a fun thing to do.
Already before this assignment I had drawn a lot, also in high school where I learned about
perspective and the sketchy way of drawing. The problem was that I never knew how to make your
drawings communicative in the end. I got stuck drawing these simple pen sketches that weren’t
presentable worthy. If I tried to make a sketch communicative, it looked more like an illustration than a sketch. I chose this assignment to be able to draw on a professional designer way, quick but communicative.
I would like to make more sketches with all the techniques combined but unfortunately because of
personal reasons I wasn’t able to do this. I’m very glad I took this assignment and I confident that I
learned all the techniques. I will keep exploring different techniques to see what works best. Also
I feel confident now to present my work to clients in the future. I’m very proud of the process that I made. I
already have the feeling that I’m on a professional level of sketching and since I’m still in my B2.1 I’m
sure that by the end of my study I will master this skill.
